A unique opportunity to work for one of the most innovative international tomato breeders. Due to ongoing growth, there is an opening for an Assistant Labor and Cultivation. This role involves leading a team of 10-15 permanent employees plus 10-15 temporary workers. We’re looking for someone eager to learn the trade but with a demonstrated affinity for horticulture. Alternatively, it could be someone currently working in horticulture and ready for their next step, or someone who has already proven themselves in a similar role. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- You will support the Labor Manager and the Cultivation Specialist. This means you will be involved in a wide range of tasks and responsibilities.
- You need to thoroughly understand the crops and the tasks to ensure that the quality of the work is executed to the highest standards. Once you are fully trained and familiar with the company, we’ll quickly move forward!
- Supervising and monitoring crop personnel.
- Conducting planning rounds with the Labor Manager.
- If you are interested in cultivation, we’ll involve you in that as well.
- Conducting cultivation rounds with the Cultivation Specialist.
- Assisting the Cultivation Specialist with making adjustments to the Priva climate computer.
competences
- You have knowledge of horticulture, whether you are fresh out of school or have years of experience.
- Knowledge of tomatoes is a plus but not essential. You’ll learn.
- You must be detail-oriented; quality is our top priority, even above work norms!
- Strong communication skills and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
