birthday present for westland food bank

The celebrating Westland Rotary clubs have given the Westland Food Bank their birthday gift worth more than 6,500 euros. The national parent club is celebrating its centenary this year and that is why they are handing out prizes. The Rotarians have now presented the food bank with 200 fruit and vegetable boxes as well as a check for € 2,500.

The birthday party took place on Saturday during a day leg of the national relay race, in which all Dutch Rotary clubs that are over 500 years old take part in cycling, walking, running on land or even on water. A total of 5,000 R kilometers will be covered in the anniversary year.

“Each local club then organizes its own party and several dozen members of the clubs Het Westland and Westland Polanen cycled almost 30 km from Delft via De Lier and Westerlee to Maassluis on Saturday,” said co-organizers Arthur Hofland and Cees Voorberg. During a supply stop at sponsor Quality Packaging, the healthy gifts and money wrapped by Rotarians themselves were transferred to the Food Bank. Bestfreshgroup and axiavegetableseeds also supported the project
