Axia Vegetable Seeds is an innovative and internationally operating breeding company specializing in the development of high-quality tomato varieties for professional greenhouse horticulture. From our locations in Naaldwijk, we work every day on genetics that contribute to productivity, sustainability, and taste.
To strengthen our breeding team, we are looking for a Breeding Operations Employee. In this role, you will support the daily execution of our breeding activities and contribute to the development of future tomato varieties through accurate and high-quality operational work.
Your role
As a Breeding Operations Employee, you are involved in a wide range of greenhouse and breeding activities that form the foundation of our breeding programs. You ensure that operational processes are executed carefully, efficiently, and according to protocol.
You enjoy working with plants, have an eye for detail and understand the importance of quality in every step of the breeding process. Together with breeders and colleagues, you contribute to achieving our breeding objectives.
What will you do?
- Support the daily execution of breeding activities
- Carry out operational greenhouse and breeding tasks
- Work with plant and seed material throughout the breeding process
- Ensure accurate execution of protocols and work instructions
- Maintain high standards of quality and hygiene
- Support the collection and administration of breeding data
- Collaborate closely with breeders and operational teams
Who are you?
You are a hands-on and motivated team player who enjoys practical work in a greenhouse environment. You work accurately, take responsibility for your tasks, and are committed to delivering high-quality results.
In addition, you bring:
- MBO working and thinking level, preferably in horticulture, agriculture, or a related field
- Affinity with plants and greenhouse operations
- A practical and proactive attitude
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A flexible mindset and willingness to support different activities throughout the season
- Good communication skills in Dutch and/or English
Experience in horticulture, breeding, or seed production is an advantage, but motivation and willingness to learn are equally important.
